ATTACK ON POPULAR FRONT SERIOUS OUTBREAKS OF LAWLESSNESS United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph --Copyright MARSEILLES, July 14. About ten revolver shots were fired from a balcony in the Rue Pavilion, when a Popular Front procession was passing. Five persons were injured. The crowd broke up in panic. The police closed both ends of the road, searched houses, and made a dozen arrests. While thousands of members of the Popular Front, carrying red flags, paraded in the east end, striking waiters smashed cafe windows. Elsewhere there were clashes between Communists and Fascists in Boulonge. The police drove off the strikers wrecking the cafes. As a result of the procession' and riots, 20 demonstrators and 10 policemen were sent to hospital. There were 30 arrests, It is alleged that the throwing of tear gas bombs started die trouble.
