GENEROUS GIFT OF £2OO By Telegraph—Press Association DUNEDIN, July 15. A generous gift of £2OO for the purpose of establishing a library at the central police station was made this afternoon by Dr. William Evans on the occasion of his retirement from the position of police surgeon, a post he hag held for the last 25 years. The gift was made at a function held to bid farewell to Dr. Evans, and the money will be used for the purpose for which it was given, Superintendent Rawle, Inspector Cameron and Chief-Detective Young acting as trustees. Dr. Evans asked that the library should be stocked with books which would be useful to the men in furthering their professional knowledge. Dr. Evans was presented with a set of crystal ware.
