CAR HITS POST
ACCIDENT AT ST. ANDREWS About 5 o’clock last evening the car in which Messrs A- R. Stewart, of Otlpua, and R. Davison, of Kingsdown, were travelling left the bitumen about half a mile north of St. Andrews and collided with a telegraph pole. The car was driven by Mr Stewart. Mr Davison was hurled through the windscreen, suffering bad cuts and abrasions, while Mr Stewart also suffered cuts and abrasions and several broken ribs. They were conveyed by private car to Timaru and admitted to Timaru Private Hospital. The front of the car was badly battered and the post damaged to such an extent that it will probably have to be replaced.
