Prisoners sentenced by Mr Justice Reed were:— James Leonard Weews (26), plasterer, breaking and entering with Intent, two years’ probation. Tihu Huatahi (29), labourer, breaking, entering and theft, eight charges, and theft, two years’ hard labour, to be served after the sentence he is at present undergoing. Urikora Pol <lB >, labourer, breaking, entering and theft, two years’ Borstal Michael Dominic O’Rourke (25), taxi driver, unlawful carnal knowledge, ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within two years. Lionel Hart Warren (52), labourer, incest, three years’ hard labour. Victor John Peddie (29), shop assistant and labourer, theft and forgery, 12 months’ hard labour. James Noel Shore (17), farm hand, breaking, entering and theft, two years’ probation. Douglas Norton (19), labourer and machinist, theft, four charges, two years Borstal.
Roy James Whelan (27), steward and waiter, breaking, entering and theft, two years’ probation.
