ALLEGED ASSAULT
CHARGE DISMISSED By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, July 13. Because he invited a, 17-year-old girl student at the Training College to' go for a ride in his car after she had smiled at him and attempted to kiss her, Frank Allan Morgan, single, aged 26, was charged at the Magistrate's Court with assault. He was also charged with driving in a dangerous manner. He pleaded not guilty to both charges. The girl said that Morgan stopped, put his arm round her and attempted to kiss her. She slapped his face and screamed. He said he would drive her where she could scream without being heard. The car was stopped by traffic officials and she complained* to them. Mr R. W. McKean, S.M., said the girl went for a ride willingly and the assault charge would be dismissed. Morgan was convicted of dangerous driving and fined 30/- and costs.
