YOUNG FARMERS’ CLUB
SOUTHBURN-LYALLDALE The fortnightly meeting of the Southburn-Lyalldale Young Farmers’ Club was held in the Southburn school, Mr I. Caird presiding over an attendance of 26 members. Owing to unforeseen circumstances the speaker for the evening, Mr W. Minehan, was unable to be present. It was agreed to contribute £2 to the South Canterbury Executive of the Young Farmers’ Club. Suggestions for future meetings were discussed including among other things a debate (tractors v. horses), a stock | demonstration, pasture plant competi- | lion, district rainfall chart, wool chart and an earmarks and brands chart.
