THEFT OF £53
MAORI FOR SENTENCE By Telegraph—Press Association DUNEDIN, June 24. At the Police Court, James Hastings Royce Hampstead, alias James Tipa (27), pleaded guilty to.the theft from a hotel of £53, the property of Roland Romas, a member of the Marcus Revue Company. Romas deposed that when he arrived at the hotel he had £65 in his pocket. When he went to bed he hung his trousers behind the door. On going to the theatre later, he found the sum charged missing. Accused was committed for sentence, the Magistrate ordering the return to complainant of the sum recovered, £27.
