SOUTH CANTERBURY TRIAL MATCH PLAYERS NOMINATED The following nominations from Sub-associations for the annual representative trial match on the Bay tomorrow have been received by the South Canterbury Basketball Association:— Waimate—forwards: V. Hollaniby (Waimate), M. Crowe (St. Patrick’s). Centres: A. Malthus (Waimate), P. O’Neil (St. Patrick’s). Defenders: N. Price (Waimate), J. Blundell (Hunter). Temuka—Forwards: M. Ives and J. McLeod (Temuka Young Women), L. Knox (Pleasant Point). Centres: S. Chisholm (Pleasant Point), K. Dore (Temuka Young Women). Defender: G. Boyle (Temuka Young Women). Timaru (six to be seeded)—Forwards: D. Strachan, M. Browne and H. Smith (H.5.0.G.), D. Jack (West End). Centres: J. McDonald and M. Best (Technical Old Girls). Defenders: J. Dale (Technical Old Girls), M. Young and B. Drennan (H.5.0.G.). Otaio—Forward: H. Lange (Pareora). Defender: M. Coles (St. Andrews). The Mackenzie Sub-association did not forward any nominations. The trial match will afford the selector (Mrs J. C. Hayhurst) an opportunity of choosing a number of players to continue practice in preparation for the inter-association and Dominion tournament games.
