MINISTER’S HEALTH

COLLEAGUES WORRIED By Teleernn*i —Pre*s Association WELLINGTON, June 23. Though no official information is available, it is reported that the recovery of the Minister of Public Works, the Hon. R. Semple, from his recent indisposition is not as thorough as his colleagues hoped and steps may be taken to induce him to take a c mplete rest from his Ministerial duties for a period. It is suggested that this respite might take the form of a health recruiting trip to Australia. In this event some other member of the Government will take temporary charge of the portfolios of Public Works and Transport. Tire Hon. P. Fraser stated to-night that although Mr Semple had returned to his Ministerial duties and thrown himself into his many tasks with his usual enthusiasm, tire Cabinet felt it unwise at present for him to shoulder his heavy administrative burdens till he had made further progress in his physical recovery.” It was therefore decided at to-day’s meeting of the Cabinet.” said Mr Fraser, that arrangements should be made for Mr Semple to visit Australia for a few weeks, with a view of aiding his recovery. It is Mr Semple’s intention, if his health permits, to carry out an investigation in the Commonwealth in connection with transport and electrical power schemes. The Minister had intended to make such an investigation after the next session.”
