hare drive
Under the auspices of the Orari Men’s Miniature Rifle Club a hare drive was held on Sunday when a party of about 40 guns took part. Shooting began at Belfield over the properties of Messrs Burke, Tavener, Ellery, Metcalfe, Bruce, Quantock and Priddle, and later at Orari over the property of Mr Milton. Here hares were very plentiful. Altogether 205 hares fell to the guns. It was decided to have another drive over the property of Mr Metcalfe in about three weeks’ time.
