Mr S. Rodger (Dunedin) is staying at the Grand. Mr W. Lock, of Nelson, has completed forty years’ service as a Justice of the Peace. Mr C. J. Walsh has been elected captain of the Palmerston North Golf Club, succeeding Mr H. Bott, who is to take up a position in Timaru. Mr W. J. G. Wyllie, accountant of the Napier branch of the National Bank of New Zealand, Ltd., has received notice of his transfer on promotion to the position of accountant at the Palmerston North branch. Messrs R. Sheen (Wellington), H. G. Echoff (Dunedin), G. Morris (Rakaia), J. Tennatt, J. B. Malcolm, H. McCutcheon and J. B. Bibby (Christchurch) are staying at the Empire. Messrs R. W. Gillett, J. Healy, M. Ongley (Wellington), H. F. Hanna, H. J. Narbey (Christchurch), R. Blie (Ashburton) and J. E. Hartstonge (Dunedin) are guests at the Balmoral. Mr W. R. Lloyd Williams, orchard instructor for Central Otago, who has been visiting America to study fruitgrowers’ problems, has left on his return to New Zealand. Mr G. H. Andrews (president) and members of the executive of the South Canterbury Industrial Exhibition and Winter Show will pay an official visit to the Waimate Winter Show, which opens on Friday. Dykes (Wellington). Mr Geoffrey P. Dennis, of the League of Nations Secretariat, and author of the controversial book "Coronation Commentary,” who was to have represented the League at the New Education Fellowship Conference in New Zealand next month, has cancelled his trip to the Dominion, according to advice received by the Auckland committee of the conference.
