BASKETBALL
SOUTHBURN CLUB The annual meeting of the Southburn Basketball Club was held in the school, Miss Ella Kinross presiding over a fair attendance of members. The report and balance-sheet presented by the secretary showed a credit balance of £2/4/-. A vote of thanks was extended to all who had assisted the club during the season.
It was decided that opening day be held on May 1, the court to be prepared on April 27. The following officers were elected: Patroness, Mrs T. Chamberlain; president, Mrs F. Turner; vice-presidents, Miss E. Kinross and Mr Turner; secretary and treasurer, Miss Audrey Gibson; club captain, Miss Clarice Gibson; vice-captain, Miss Marjorie Calrd; delegates to Sub-Association, Misses Ella Kinross, Marjorie Caird, Dorothy Bell; committee, Misses Dorothy Bell, Myra Evans, Margaret Ward; coaches, Mr and Mrs F. Turner. It was decided to have practices each Tuesday, subscriptions to be 1/6, travelling expenses paid. SPRINGBROOK CLUB At the annual meeting of the Springbrook Basketball Club, Mr R. H. Rowe presided over a good attendance of members. The annual report and balancesheet were read and adopted, the latter showing a substantial balance. It was decided to affiliate with the Sub-Association and enter a team in the competitions. The following officers were elected for the coming season: Presidents Mr R. H. Rowe: vice-presidents, Misses B. Moyle and E. Arden; secretary, Miss D. Wilkie; treasurer, Miss E. Arden; committee, Misses J. Henry, P. Midgley and O. Allan; delegates to Association. Misses B. Moyle, E. Arden, D. Wilkie; referee. Miss M. Cloake. It was agreed to hold the opening dance at the end of the month.
