KING’S CORONATION

ARRANGEMENTS FOR PROCESSION TROOPS TO PARTICIPATE British Official Wlreles* (Received March 18, 7.30 p.m.) RUGBY, March 17. The number of officers and men from home and overseas in the coronation procession and lining the routes will be about 32,500. In the procession will be detachments from the Royal Navy, naval reserves from all corps, and units of regular and territorial army, from the Royal Air Force and auxiliary air force, the navy providing 400 nxen, the air force 300 men of the total. The Indian Army and Navy will also be represented. Contingents from the Dominion and the contingent, representing the colonial Empire, will take part in the procession, in addition to some 6,500 men to be required for reserves and administrative duties. The length of the return procession from Westminster Abbey will be approxixxxately 3,500 yards, and it will take 40 minutes to pass a given point. Composite guards of honour from the thre' services will be mounted at Buckingham Palace, and outside Westminster Abbey. Bands, including a service band from Canada, will take part in the procession. Bands will also i.c stationed along the route. A party of 50 of the King’s Company of Grenadier Guards will be present In the Abbey. THE QUEEN’S ROBE. The Queen has finally approved the design of the Coi'onatlon robe, of princess shape, of satin, ivory tint, with square decolletage and small sleeves. The full train robe will be richly embroidered in gold In scroll design, combining the floral emblems of e Empire —rose, thistle, shamrock, leek, lotus flower, maple leaf, wattle, fern frond and protea, together with the English oakleaf and acorn, which will be used also as a border design of the gown of ivory satin, embroidered in gold.
