ROUND UP OF NAZI OPPONENTS

The Berlin correspondent of “The Basle Nachrichten” reports a round-up of leading industrialists and others connected with the Steel Helmets. Those arrested allegedly expressed Jisapproval of the Hitler regime, and were also in close touch with the Hohenzollerns. Assassins Ever Ready Commemorating the second anniversary of Herr Hitler’s introduction of conscription, General Goering made the first public reference to the danger of assassination of Herr Hitler and his associates. He declared: “I say to all who see the last chance of overthrowing Germany in murder or desperate attempts on our lives, that the passionate love of the entire people forms a wall of defence around our leader and his trusted followers. Woe to him who plays with fire.” All stations broadcast the speech, but the official news agency omitted this portion.
