IMPETUS OF WORLD BUYING COMMODITY MARKETS ACTIVE bulled Press Association—By Electric Telearaoh- •Oopvrlnht (Received. March 11, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, March 10. Commodity markets have felt the tremendous impetus of world buying, either for peacetime or for allegedly munitions purposes. The new wheat crop, in a month, has gained five cents a bushel, Chicago and Winnipeg being under pressure on reported German buying. Rye, also, rose five cents, and cotton increased a dollar a bale. Crude rubber spurted three to four cents, reaching new high levels since early 1929. World sugar contracts, hides, and silks soared. Copper, tin, lead, and zinc, following the trend of leading metal markets of the world, established new peaks. The stock market responded to the commodity situation, and mining, railway, steel, petroleum, and industrial shares gained three to six points.
