The New York State Assembly voted by 102 to 42 against a resolution for the ratification of the Child Labour amendment to the Federal Constitution, which is one of President Roosevelt’s pet pieces of legislation, the ratification of which he frequently urged. Forty-one Democrats and sixty-one Republicans voted against the measure and thirty-three Democrats and nine Republicans for it.
