B B C. PERFORMER FINED LONDON, February 14. John Rorke, the 8.8. C. performer who interjected “Mrs Simpson” durin a broadcast in which an allusion was made to “sex appeal,” is to lose five weeks’ salary in consequence. He will not be heard again in 8.8. C. performances before St. Patrick’s Day. “It was ‘Mrs Gibson’ I intended to say,” remarked Rorke. “It’s impossible to explain how I came to slip in ‘Simpson.’ “I’ll take my punishment, which I consider most lenient, with resignation.” Rorke has been broadcasting for thirteen years.
