The winner of the first prize m tne “Landed at Last” art union is Mr Alfred Clarke, a dairy farmer oi Auroa, who said that he had never before won even a small prize. He described tire fortune as a great stroke ot luck. He did not intend to divulge his plans to anybody. Mr Clarke who has been dairy farming in South Taranaki for 43 years, said: “I’m just a plain dairy farmer and hard up till now.’
