PLAYWRIGHT’S FALL

LOST OVERBOARD IN ATLANTIC United Press Association —By Electric Teh-greph —Coovrlght (Received March 8, 7.25 p.m.) LE HAVRE, March 7. “I think that jealousy and excessive drinking were responsible for Frank Vosper’s fall,” said Captain Geranderie, Commander of the liner Paris, when speaking to a correspondent of “The Daily Mail,” of the disappearance from the vessel between New York and Plymouth of Frank Vesper, a noted playwright and actor. “I understand that Mises Muriel Oxford, Peter Wiliies and Vesper were attending parties ip the ship since leaving New York,” said Captain Gerapderle. “After a farewell dance ended, a steward took several bottles of champagne to Miss Oxford's cabin, where she was with Vosper and Willies. The next we knew was Miss Oxford rushing out, shouting ‘Help, Vosper has committed suicide by Jumping overboard.' ”

Miss Oxford denied Captain Geranderio’s allegation of excessive drinking. She did not know how much Vosper and Willies had been drinking earlier in the evening.
