FAREWELL SOCIAL LODGE MEMBER HONOURED Members of Loyal Geraldine Lodge, M.U., 1.0.0. F. assembled in the Oddfellows’ Hall on Saturday evening in order to bid goodbye to Mr Cecil J. Hayward, who is leaving Geraldine in order to commence business on his own account at Christchurch. In presenting Mr Hayward with a past grand master’s regalia, Mr Harold Hill recalled that Mr Hayward had been actively associated with the Lodge since its inception in 1929, and he remarked that he would be keenly missed. Mr P. Hamla, of Timaru, endorsed Mr Hill’s remarks on behalf of members of the Timaru Lodge. Friends of Mr and Mrs Hayward and family were also present at the gathering, and Mr J. Buckley, who wished them success and happiness in their new sphere, called on Mr F. Sherratf to make the presentation of a set of saucepans. Mr Hayward, who made a suitable acknowledgment of the good wishes and gifts, expressed his regret at leaving Geraldine. A Monte Carlo was won by Miss Morna Barrett and family. TOC H GUEST NIGHT “Navigation” was the subject of an interesting address by Captain D. MacDougall, formerly harbourmaster at Timaru, at the guest night conducted by members of the Geraldine Toe H. Mr F. W. Maddox occupied the chair. “Captain Mac,” and “Song of the Clock” were sung by Mr G. IL Knibb. TENNIS PLEASANT VALLEY V.
