FIVE O’CLOCK PARTY

To enable her friends in South Canterbury to say good-bye to her daughter, Elizabeth, who is leaving by the Rangitiki for England where her marriage will take place, Mrs Herbert Elworthy gave a delightful five o'clock party yesterday at her picturesque home, "Craigmore.” The rooms were artistically arranged with tall spikes of beautiful gladioli in many shades, the predominant colours in the draw-ing-room being pink and mauve. In the hall, large jars were filled with orange gladioli, pocket dahlias and monbretia. Mrs Elworthy received her guests in a frock of wine coloured crepe and Miss Elizabeth Elworthy’s frock was of dusky pink crepe de chene patterned in black.
