TO-DAY’S vote
POLLING ON REFERENDUM IN AUSTRALIA United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received March 5, 11.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 5. A referendum will be taken throughout Australia to-morrow on the alterations to the Federal Constitution to permit the Commonwealth Government to control the marketing of Australian produce and also aviation. The advocates for the “Yes” vote argue that the issue is one of orderly or disorderly marketing. The advocates of the “No” vote contend that the affirmative vote will lead to dearer food and clothes and will give the Commonwealth Government unlimited power over every form of buying and. selling.
