FORESTERS’ LODGE At the monthly meeting of Court Progress No. 6732, Bro. G. Annett presided. Two candidates were initiated. Bros. C. G. Baker and W. Annett junr. were elected to represent the Court at district meetings. Bro. G. R. T. Marshall, retiring District Chief Ranger, thanked the Court for its support during his term of office. He congratulated Bros. G. Green and S. Dellow on the manner in which they had carried out their duties as district officers. The present officers were reelected. Sick pay totalling £3/16/8 was passed for payment. TERRITORIALS Al the parade of the St. Andrews unit of D <S) Company members were notified that before the annual camp at Amberley a whole day parade would be held at Jack’s Point. An invitation to attend the annual mess at the Drill Hall, Timaru, was extended to all members. Under Sergeant Findlay and Quartermaster Sergeant J. Halkett rifle drill was carried out. Uniforms and equipment will be issued to members in readiness for the annual camp. Further parades will be held weekly instead of fortnightly. TENNIS MATCH Members of the Tennis Cluh. journeyed to Kingsdown, where a very enjoyable match was played against the Kingsdown Club. The visitors were defeated by 9 sets to 4. MOTHERS’ UNION At the annual meeting of the Anglican Mothers’ Union Mrs Hay presided over a good attendance of members. The election of officers resulted:— Enrolling member, Mrs Hay; vicepresidents, Mrs J. Stowell and Mrs W. Cague; secretary, Mrs R. B. Williams; committee, Mesdames P. F. Dix, P. R. Woodhouse, W. E. Moyle. During the afternoon the Rev. H. S Leach gave a talk about the affairs of the Mothers’ Union and gatheri igs in England, and was accorded a vote of thanks. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses. FLAG BRIDGE The monthly flag bridge held under the auspices of the Library Committee was well supported. The prizewinners were Mrs Leckie. Messrs McLaughlin and Tavener. The prizes were given by Mrs Dash and Mrs Dix. PERSONAL Miss N. Scannell has returned to Studholme. Miss P. Kennard returned from Oamaru during the week.
