The Match Committee reported that no date had yet been fixed for the tourney at Waimate. It was agreed that inquiries be made of Fairlie members regarding arrangements for a tourney at their centre. Pleasant Point Tourney The Match Committee reported on the programme arranged for the Peasant Point tourney. Advice had been received that Bates, who had been matched with Craib, was not now available. The committee had been fortunate in securing Vessy (Ashburton) to meet Craib. The report was approved. The transport sub-committee reported that a generous response had been received from members in providing transport to convey officials and competitors to the tourney. Owing to the numerous inquiries from intending patrons it was decided to hire a bus. Mr J. Dineen was appointed transport manager. The main bout on the programme will be Colin Craib (Timaru) v. W. Vessy (Ashburton). A hard hitting contest should result in the bout between Jack (Timaru) and Gould (Pleasant Point) as both are very aggressive boxers.
