WEDDING

TURNER—BEGG A wedding of interest to both Otago and Canterbury readers was solemnised at Timaru yesterday, when Annie “Marjory, eldest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs John Begg, Pukeawa, Balclutha. was married at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Highfield, to William Manuel, son of the late Major Turner, Balclutha, and Mrs Turner. Mayfield. The Rev. J. Baird performed the ceremony and Mr A. C. Mclnnes acted as organist. The church was beautifully decorated by friends of the bride. Solos were given in the church and at the breakfast by Miss Lillian McDonald.

The bride, who was given away by her uncle, the Rev. A. Begg, Timaru, was attired in a brown floral mousselin frock. She wore with it a brown picture hat and gloves to tone. Her bouquet was of pink begonias and cyclamen.

Miss Margaret Begg, sister of the bride, acted as bridesmaid, and wore a

frock of delphinium blue georgette. Her hair was daintily banded with flowers to tone with her frock, while she carried a bouquet of lemon begonias and cyclamen. Mr Donald Turner, of Dunedin, assisted his cousin, as best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Caroline Bay Tearooms, where the bride’s sister, Miss Alyth Begg, assisted by the Rev. A. Bdgg and Mrs Begg and Mrs W. Turner, received the guests. Miss Begg wore a green wool suit trimmed with brown broadtail and a model hat to match. She carried a scarlet bouquet. Mrs A. Begg wore a black silk coat over a floral frock, her black straw hat being relieved with rose. Her bouquet was of crimson hothouse flowers. Mrs W. Turner, mother of the bridegroom, wore a model frock of brown georgette, a large brown hat and carried autumn tinted abutilons. When the bride and bridegroom left for the north, the bride wore a smart tunic suit of petrol green, relieved with oyster, a green hat and accessories to tone. The future home of tne young couple will be at Mayfield.
