MOTORIST ACQUITTED
NEGLIGENT DRIVING CHARGE By Telegraph—Press Assoeietinn GREYMOUTH, March 3 The criminal session of the Supreme Court opened to-day before Mr Justice Northcroft. There Was only one criminal case for trial. His Honour congratulated the district on Its continued freedom from serious crime. John Cyril O’Donnell, a trucker, aged 27, was charged with (1) negligent driving thereby causing the death of William Ramsay Burt in High Street, Greymouth, on August 29 last; <2) falling to stop and ascertain Whether the person was injured, and render all practical assistance possible. The second charge was laid under the new Motor Regulations, 1936. The jury after a retirement of two and a half hours, returned a verdict Of not guilty.
