Yesterday afternoon the staff of the Perpetual Trustees Company Ltd. met to bid farewell to Mr J. G. Turkington. The manager, Mr L. S. Abernethy, in making a presentation to Mr Turkington on behalf of the staff, referred to the good qualities of the recipient and the excellent work he had done during his 10 years with the company, and wished him well in his future career. On behalf of the directors of the company, Mr Turkington was presented with a wallet of notes. Mr Turkington suitably responded.

Tributes to Mr J. Rollo Sharp, who is retiring from the position of South Island auditor for Dalgety and Co. Ltd., were paid by Mr J. J. Heasley (manager) and other members of the executive staff. In making a presentation, Mr Heasley spoke of Mr Sharp’s loyalty and his efficiency, while other members spoke in similar strain. Mr Sharp joined a legal firm as a boy, and 30 years ago joined the staff of Dalgety and Co. Ltd. at Wellington. From there he was transferred to the Blenheim branch aS manager, atid 17 years ago became their South Island auditor.
