TENNIS TOURNAMENT

LARGE GALLERY OF SPECTATORS

One way of looking at the cloudy weather experienced of late is that it is ideal for the tennis players for they have not been handicapped by too brilliant sunshine. Now that the finals are drawing near, large crowds are being attracted to Maori Park with the possibility of seeing the champions in action. One must admit that the tennis on Saturday, the fourth day of the meeting treated spectators to many thrills. The frocking of the onlookers was varied, some choosing linen frocks and floral, while others deemed it necessary to be on the safe side and were attired in light summer tweed costumes and suits while the players did not forget to don their attractive little summer cardigans charmingly hand-knitted in the new knobby stitches and of the fluffy angora wool.
