MOTHER AND DAUGHTER KILLED United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received December 27, 11.22 p.m.) MELBOURNE, December 27. A mother and her 23-year daughter were killed and her daughter’s fiance was seriously injured when a train wrecked a baby car on a level crossing at Carrum 20 miles from Melbourne this morning. The killed were Mrs Ruby Wilde (41), and Miss Alice Wilde; Kenneth Crowhurst (25), was injured. Pieces of the car were scattered 70 feet along the track. The deughter was killed instantly, and the mother died in hospital. Crowliurst was driving the party to a picnic at Frankston, six miles further along the line. The police have been informed that the car appeared to race the train for the crossing.
