LATEST ADVICES The Timaru waterfront was quiet over the week-end, there being no arrivals or departures. The Port Whangerei is the only vessel scheduled to work here to-day. She is expected from Dunedin to load for Wellington, Wanganui and New Plymouth and should sail this evening via Lyttelton. EXPECTED ARRIVALS The following list of steamers’ movements is compiled in accordance with advices supplied by agents for the different lines:—

NOTES The Holmglen is due from Dunedin to-morrow to lift Wellington, New Plymouth and Waikato shipments. She is scheduled to sail that night for Lyttelton. The Waipiata should be here from Dunedin on Wednesday. She will load for Wellington and Auckland before proceeding to Lyttelton. The Waikouaiti is to discharge general Australian cargo at Timaru about Wednesday. Due from Dunedin she is to sail hence the same night for Lyttelton and Oamaru. Sailed yesterday—Rangatira (8.9 a.m.) for Picton; John Knudsen (7.13 a.m.) and Rangatira (7.55 p.m.) for Lyttelton; to-day, Orford (5.58 a.m.) for Sydney. LYTTELTON, December 27 Arrived yesterday—Wahine (6.45 a.m.) for Wellington; Saikoh Maru (4.5 p.m.) from Auckland; to-day Rangatira <6.50 a.m.) and John Knudsen (10.20 a.m.) from Wellington. Sailed yesterday—Wahine (8.40 p.m.) for Wellington; Rangatira (8.20 p.m.) for Wellington.
