Lightning killed Herbert Fletcher (48) a dairy farmer, while he was tending cows on his farm near Nowra. His clothes were alight, and a dead cow lay beside him when his wife reached his side a few seconds after the tragedy. Other cows lay unconscious in the dairy yard.
