Allott, who has been officer in charge of the Temuka Salvation Army Corps for the last 18 months, has received notice of his impending transfer. Mr A. Hammond left Temuka during the week-end for Wellington, en route for a holiday visit to Australia. Mr J. L. Stone-Wigg, principal of the Waihi School, Winchester, leaves on Saturday for a trip to Melbourne and Geelong, during which he hopes to attend the third cricket test match. Mr D. Parke, son of Mr and Mrs G. R. Parke, Milford, was recently promoted to the position of inspector in the Justice Department at Auckland. Miss Mildred Austin leaves shortly to take up a position on the nursing staff of the Christchurch Public Hospital. Mr and Mrs D. Mackenzie and Mr B. Mackenzie and Miss M. Mackenzie, Highgate, Dunedin, will spend the Christmas vacation with Mrs H. J. Webb, Princes Street, Temuka. Miss E. Simpson, who has been the guest of Mrs W. S. Dale, Milford, has returned to Christchurch. Mr E. Cholerton, proprietor of John I. Piocter, Ltd., Opticians, Christchurch. hopes to make a personal professional visit to Temuka early Ln the vear. the exact date of which will Oe given later.
