WEDDING

CHAPMAN—FULTON On November 5 the wedding was solemnised at St. Bernadette Church, Dunedin, of Anne, fourth daughter of Mr and the late Mrs Fulton, Timaru, and Keith Clifford, second son of Mr and Mrs Chapman, of Dunedin. The bride's friends decorated the churcir with arum lilies, white lilac, and Iceland poppies. The Rev. Father McDevitt performed the ceremony. Two solos, “Sanctus” and "Ave Maria,” were sung by Miss Marie Campbell, of Timaru. Messrs T. Hart and A. Richardson acted as ushers. The bride was attired in a graceful gown of pearl satin imperial, with a high neckline and a shoulder yoke relieved with a pearl motif. There were diagonal tucks on the bodice, which had buttoned trimming at the back and full bishop sleeves. The close-fitting skirt finished in a long train. The trailing veil was of cream cut tulle, with a pleated cape and pleated coronet finished with orange blossom. She carried a sheaf of Philipensis lilies. The attendants were Misses Margaret Fulton, Gwen Chapman, and Aileen Jober, dressed in Kenya red taffeta changeant, with puffed half-sleeves and curved seams, peplums divided in front and full skirts cut on the bias and finished at the shoulder with gold lame flowers. Gauntlet gloves of the same material edged with bands of gold lame, large dress hats of taffeta lined with gold lame, featuring an interestingly draped crown, and finished with gold bow across the back, and sheafs of Iceland poppies and ranunculus to tone complete their toilettes. Mr J. Davenport was best man, with Messrs W. Chapman and J. Fulton as groomsmen.

The reception was held in the Somerset Lounge, which was arranged with gold tablecloths, and bowls of Iceland poppies. Mrs Fulton wore a long black frock and threequarter coat of crepe Rocona, with bishop sleeves and lace insertions. Her black hat was trimmed with floral, and she carried a bouquet of lemon ranunculus. The bridegroom’s mother wore a long rust crepe cellophane ensemble, tht frock cut diagonally and having fur-trimmed sleeves on the coat. She wore a large picture hat to tone, and carried a bouquet of orange abutilons. When Mr and Mrs Chapman left cy car for the north, the latter was wearing a navy and white suit, with navy accessories.
