Mr and Mrs J. Innes, Mackenzi Country, are staying at the Grosvenor

Mr and Mrs V. LeCren, Fairlie, are guests at the Grosvenor.

Miss D. Theomln, Dunedin, is staying at the Grosvenor. Miss Mirims, Dunedin, is staying at The Bungalow, Wal-iti Road.

Mr and Mrs J. B. Robertson, Dunedin, are staying at the Grand.

Mr and Mrs G. H. Andrews and Mr and Mrs J. M. Jenkins left for Mount Cook, yesterday.

Miss Angela Moore, “Rath Keale,’’ Waitohi, will leave on Tuesday by the Awatea for Sydney. Mr and Mrs L. H. Labone, Wellington are visiting Timaru and are staying at the Grosvenor.

Mr and Mrs S. C. Spence and Mr and Mrs F. Pridean, Whakatane, are staying at the Dominion. Miss Agnes Buchanan, who is on a visit to Timaru will return to-morrow to Christchurch.

Miss Janet Murchison, Fairview, has returned from a visit to her aunt, Mrs Cohen, Wellington, and Mrs J. W. K. Lawrence, Christchurch.

Miss Guild, Masterton, who was the guest of Mrs Andrew Guild, “Strathearn,” Temuka, has left for Christchurch.

Mrs Alister Mackenzie, “Clayton Station,” Fairlie, who was the guest of Miss Mary Mackenzie, “Otumarama,” returned home yesterday. Mrs J. M. Gibson, who has been staying with Mrs T. Lynch, Church Street, returned yesterday to Sherwood Downs.

Miss Joyce Jones, “Otiritiri,” has returned from a visit to Mrs H. S. Orbell, Oamaru. Miss Enid Jones who was the guest of Mrs Nicholls, Maheno, has returned home. Mrs Sinclair-Thomson and Miss Ford, “The Crossing,” Woodbury, arrived yesterday to stay with Miss Elworthy, “Pareora Cottage,” LeCren’s Terrace.

Mr and Mrs Clements, Miss Buckley (Christchurch), Messrs W. B. Lambert (Christchurch) and R. B. Sinclair (Palmerston North) are guests at the Balmoral.

The Rev. Frank Dunnage and Mrs Dunnage, who returned to England in April after a long visit to New Zealand, are now settled at Swanley Village, Kent, where Mr Dunnage has charge of St. Paul’s parish. An engagement is announced between John Buckhurst, twin son of Dr G. H. Mirams of Lower Hutt, and of Mrs G. C. Godfrey, Wellington, and Peggy, fourth daughter of Mrs and the late Major R. R. Bowie, Wai-lti Road, Timaru.

A very enjoyable “kitchen evening” was tendered to Miss Olive Roseveare in the Woodlands Street Hail on the occasion of her approaching marriage to Mr Clarence Hawkey. A very pleasant time was spent in games and competitions. Very many useful gifts were brought. As Miss Roseveare had been a member of the choir for a good many years, opportunity was taken to present her with a striking clock from the members of the choir. Mr Clarence Hawkey returned thanks on behalf of Miss Hawkey and Mr Roseveare thanked the gathering for coming in such large numbers to honour his daughter.
