SPORT AND WORK

TEAM SPIRIT WANTED By Telegraph—Px’ess Association WELLINGTON. November 27. “If each man does his job enthusiastically New Zealand will develop into the happiest country in the world,” said the Hon. P. C. Webb, Minister of Mines, at a social function when discussing the 40-hour week. Mr Webb said the 40-hour week had brought two responsibilities—the responsibility of the Government to organise the open-air activities of the people of New Zealand, so that they could reap the benefit of leisure and build healthy bodies, and the responsibility of the people who must cooperate with the Government to the extent of giving full value in industry during the 40-hour period they are asked to work. The Government wanted the people to adopt the team spirit of their games in business life.
