TENNIS COMPETITION DRAW FOR TO-MORROW The inter-club tennis competitions will be continued to-morrow with C grade matches as follows: North section: Hook v. Makikihi, at Makikihi; Studholme v. St. Patrick's at St. Patrick's; Willowbridge v. Hunter, at Hunter. South section: Ikawai A V. Glenavy, at Glenavy; Ikawai B v. Morven, at Ikawai. CONDITION STILL SERIOUS Mrs Jessie Clark, who was found shot at Hunter, is still in a serious condition in the Waimate Hospital, although there has been a slight improvement. HEALTH CAMP MEETING OF COMMITTEE Several requests from the central committee of the Health Camp Campaign were dealt with at a meeting of the Waimate Committee on Wednesday evening. The Mayor, Mr G. Dash, presided. It was reported that 50 children would be attending the camp at the Waimate High School, commencing on January 4 and continuing for three weeks. The camp officials advised that donations of green vegetables, butter, eggs, fruit, meat and potatoes would be acceptable. CRICKET SECOND ROUND DRAW The following is the draw for the second round in the Waimate Cricket Association’s competitions: To-morrow: Waimate V. Morven, at Manchester Park; Old Boys v. Mills, A. Carbis. DRUIDS LODGE At the half-yearly meeting of Ivy Lodge A.D. Bro. Jolliffe presided over a large attendance of members. One new member was proposed. Allington; U.F.S.D., Bro. Riordan. COURT FORESTERS’ PRIDE At a meeting of Court Foresters’ Pride C.R., Bro. F. S. Murray, presided over a good attendance of members. Members who had attended the meeting in St. Andrew's gave an interesting report and were accorded a vote of thanks. Bro. T. Baker, P.D.C.R., of the Timaru Lodge, wrote agreeing to attend the Court’s next meeting to give a talk on the working of the order. Two new members were proposed. CONDITIONS AT WAITAKI The Waitaki River has risen considerably since the week-end and is now flowing very high and dirty. The Waihao is also much higher than it has been for some time, thus avoiding the necessity of moving a large number of stranded fish. WILLOWBRIDGE INSTITUTE Mrs J. C. Faulkner presided over a good attendance at the November meeting of the Willowbridge Women’s Institute. One new member was elected. It was decided to contribute to the Queen Mary portrait fund. Miss Joan Hollamby gave a very interesting demonstration of wool rug making and was accorded a vote of thanks.

Richmond (ranunculas) 2, Mrs Colville (aquilegia) 3; tray of mixed biscuits. Miss A. Faulkner 1, Mrs W. Smith 2; Christmas present costing not more than 1/6, Mrs W. Smith 1. The hostesses tor the afternoon were Mesdames W. Smith and W. Richmond.
