MISS J. HORWELL SUCCESSFUL WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP IN MID-CANTERBURY The Mid-Canterbury Women’s Golf Championship tourney was continued yesterday, when further progress was made. Miss Jean Horwell, of Timaru, who played well the previous day, easily maintained her lead, and in the senior championship ran out a winner by a substantial margin. The teams match resulted in a win for Ashburton No 2 with a total score of 313; Highfield were second with a total score of 318 and Ashburton No 1 with a score of 333 were third.
