BURGLAR CAUGHT
THIRTY-EIGHT CHARGES ADMITTED By Teleeraon uie-ss Association DUNEDIN, September 2. The depredations over a period of three years of a burglar who was commonly reputed to be “Slippery Sam” were cleared up in the Magistrate’s Court when Victor Roydon Curline, a tinsmith, pleaded guilty to 32 charges of breaking, entering and theft from dwellings, five charges of theft and a charge of being in possession of an unregistered revolver. The Court was littered with a collection of articles ranging from vases and decanters to eiderdown quilts. The total value of the goods stolen was £474. One of the accused’s most audacious burglaries was at Mosgiel where he removed a load of furniture delivered the previous night, by a man who had shifted from Dunedin. On the indictable charges, accused was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
