Above, the scene outside the Courthouse at Apia as the I nion Jack was hoisted. Above, the landing of the 5th Wellington Regiment at Apia on the day of occupation. The bridge in the distance spans the Vaisigano River, which rises near Vailima, the old home of Robert Louis Stevenson.
