R.S.A. CARD MATCH I Members of the Temuka R.S.A. visit--1 ed Pleasant Point and played a card match with the local branch. Both cribbage and euchrj games were contested, and Pleasant Point had a narrow win in each match. Supper was served at the conclusion of the games. A return match was arranged to be played in Temuka. FOOTBALL CLUB At a meeting of the committee of the Pleasant Point Football Club the j Union submitted September 26 as the date for the seven-a-side tournament. This was considered very unsuitable, 1 as it was the day of the Geraldine races and it had been found previously, when a tournameni had been held, to be a very unsatisfactory date. Owing to this, it was decided not to hold the tournament this year as a later date would run into the cricket season. A letter was received from the Albion Club, Christchurch, advising that when a suitable date was received from its governing body the annual game would be played—probably on Lancaster Park Arrangements were left In the hands of Messrs A. Saunders and the secretary. I The social committee reported that an outstanding concert had been ar- | ranged for September 17, when | features of the programme would be the Marist Brothers schoolboy 'Loir and Mr W. Duncan's concert party from Tlmaru.

HIGH SCHOOL REUNION It is anticipated by the organising committee that about 300 ex-pupils and their partners will attend the reunion dinner which will be held at the Town Hall to-night.

BASKETBALL Misses I. Christie and I. Chisholm, members of the successful South Canterbury basketball representative team, have returned home. The local team will contest the senior final game with Temuka Young Women on Saturday. The third grade team, with an unbeaten record, has won Its competition.
