Miss M. Band, Sheffield, is the guest of Mrs R. Tacon, Otipua. Mr and Mrs Cyprian, Tangawahine, are guests at the Empire. Miss Stella Johnston is the guest cf Mrs T. Kyle, Washdyke. Mr and Mrs J. A. Higgs, Christchurch, are staying at the Dominion. Lady Sidey, Dunedin, is a guest at the Grand. Dr. and Mrs H. R. Gibson, Invercargill, are staying at the Grand. Mrs J. Page, Lake Tekapo, is staying at the Grand. Miss A. Campbell, Dunedin, is a guest at the Grand. Miss Audrey Holdgate, Bidwill Street, is on a visit to Dunedin. Mrs Corbett, Ashburton, is the guest of her daughter, Mrs W. Hill, Pareora West. Mrs R. D. King, Sophia Street, will leave to-day on a short visit to Dunedin. Mrs E. J. LeCren and Miss Ethel LeCren, who were guests at the Grosvenor leave to-day for Auckland. Mrs J. H. Russell, Wellington, who is the guest of Mrs A. M. H. Shirtcliff, Highfield, will return north to-day. Mr and Mrs John Black, Sydney, are visiting Timaru and are staying at the Empire. Mr and Mrs B. H. Howell, Cave, who were the guests of Miss Nancy Howell, Ranui, Grey Road, have returned. Mrs J. F. Collins and Miss M. Collins, Christchurch, are registered at the Grand. Miss E. L. Morgan, Dee Street, Geraldine, is spending a holiday as the guest of Mrs John Charles, Rangitata. Mr and Mrs F. J. C. Turner (Southbum), are the guests of Mrs S. H. Turner, Geraldine. Miss Beatrice Beauchamp, who is staying with her aunt, Mrs C. A. Paterson, Sefton Street, will leave tomorrow for Christchurch. Mr and Mrs V. M. Kirby, and Mr and Mrs R. B. Clarke, Dunedin, are staying at Beverley House, for the Dougherty-Johnson wedding. The engagement is announced of Russell Felstead, eldest son of Dr and Mrs T. T. Thomas, Palmerston and Beatrice Rosemary, only daughter of Mr H. W. G. Beauchamp, Picton, and the late Mrs Beauchamp. Mr and Mrs Frank Smith, of Dunedin, are the guests of Mrs L. E. Johnson. Rosewill, for the marriage of her daughter, Edith to Mr Septimus Dougherty at Chalmers Church, this afternoon. The engagement is announced of Jeinette, elder daughter of Mrs G. March and the late George March, Clyde Road, Fendalton, to Baxter, youngest son of Mr and Mrs J. J. McKeown, “Hadlow Park,” Timaru. Mr and Mrs Deer (Dunedin), Mr and Mrs L. Prentice (Auckland), Mr and Mrs H. Ash, Miss V. Ewen, Mrs Burt (Christchurch), Mr and Mrs Frank, Mr- W. H. Peter, and Mr L. Dawson (Wellington), were rscent guests at Victoria House, Geraldine. The engagement is announced of Robert, only son of the late Dr A. D. Low and Mrs Low, of Milford Haven. Pembrokeshire, England, and Joan Prudence, second daughter of the late Mr R. C. Fowler and Mrs Fowler of S. Wanarajah, Dickoya, Ceylon. Miss Fowler has many friends in Timaru and Christchurch.
