Whether the cause was due to nerves or an incipient cold was not known, but after a great deal of excitement and confusion, a friendly neighbour who was present popped out and returned with a bottle of Baxter’s Lug Preserver. The bride-to-be, after taking a few sips, recovered the use of her voice much to the relief of everyone concerned.
