FAT SHEEP DEARER Average entries for this time of year came forward for the stock sale held yesterday at the Temuka saleyards. Fat Cattle.—About 100 head was on offer, only 20 of which were of finished quality. The sale was a good one, with values the equal of late rates. The range was: Fat steers, best £l2/2/6 to £l5/2/6, light £8 to £lO/7/6; heifers, best £9 to £l2/7/6, medium £6/7/6 to £7/12/6, light £4/7/6 to £5/7/6; cows, best £7/7/6 to £B/17/6, light £4 to £5/7/6; runners to £4/12/6. Store Cattle.—Few store cattle were on offer, but late rates were fully maintained. Sales were: Bulls to £3; cows (empty) 30/- to £3/15/-; 2-year steers (ordinary) to £3/10/-. Dairy Cattle.—The sale of dairy cattle was attended by a large number of farmers, the market for the medium class lots improving by nearly 20/- a head. Sales were: Springing heifers £3 to £7/7/6; cows £4 to £7/12/6; cows in profit £3 to £5. Store Sheep.—A small entry sold as follows: Aged ewes in lamb 15/- to 21/-; wether hoggets 19/3; ewe hoggets (small) 24/-; ewes and lambs (ewes 4, 6 and 8 and failing mouth), 13/10 all counted. Fat Sheep.—Two races of fat sheep showed an advance of 1/6 a head on the last Pleasant Point sale. The range was: Fat wethers, best 32/7 to 36/1; fat wethers (medium) 27/- to 31/-; ewes, extra good, 33/- to 35/1, good 28/- to 31/-, medium 23/- to 25/7, light 18/- to 21/-. Pigs.—A short entry showed an improvement of 5/- a head, prices being as follows: Weaners 18/- to 25/-, stores 22/6 to 27/-; porkers £2 to £2/12/-; baconers £2/15/- to £3/10/-; sows in pig £3 to £3/10/-. DUNLOP PERDRIAU By Ipi pgr apt) —Association WELLINGTON, September 1. The Dunlop Perdriau Rubber Company has advised the Stock Exchange Association that the net profit for the year ended June 30. amounts to £305,680. After payment of dividends already announced, the Board will recommend to shareholders that £50,000 be added to the general reserve, making it £150,000, and that £55,407 be carried forward.

G. J. COLES AND COMPANY By It-IP-’IHUII tsyw-iS’-Uh AUCKLAND, September 1. The chairman of the Auckland Stock Exchange, Mr John Frater, has received a long night telegram from Mr G. J. Coles, formerly governing director of the chain store firm of that name, protesting against directors being permitted to vote their own remuneration and draw salaries as executive officers, and urging that two additional directors be appointed to the board as representatives of outside shareholders.
