The Glasgow Corporation, which contains a majority of Labour members, for the first time permitted Sunday golf on five out of its nine municipal courses. A young Scot took up his position on one of its courses at 10 o’clock on Saturday night under a huge umbrella, a local sportsman having promised a new golf club to players driving off the first balls. A thousand tickets were issued by mid-day.
