Messrs W. Martin (Oamaru) and J. S. Rodger (Dunedin) are staying at the Grand. Sir Arthur Steel-Maitland, of London, is a passenger on the liner Tamaroa, due at Auckland on September 11. Messrs K. Orlebar, K. M. Graham, S. H. Provost, A. M. Lawn (Dunedin), J. Keating (Christchurch), and members of the North Auckland Rugby representative team, are staying at the Dominion. Messrs G. D. Doland (Christchurch), B. C. McCabe, H. M. Casilberg, J. H. Parker, C. D. Edmond, E. M. Bates (Wellington), W. F. Jones (Dunedin), J. A. Stevenson and C. E. Holmes (Christchurch) are staying at the Grosvenor. Messrs W. H. Marshall, R. Thompson (Dunedin), N. Quirk (Christchurch), J. W. Courtney, T. M. Conaghan, G. Hayward, T. H. Hayes, H. Osborne, L. F. Tucker, L. C. Garry (Whangarei) and H. Walker (Dargaville) are staying at the Empire.
Mr A. P. Greenfield has accepted the position of general manager of the Dunedin Brewery and Wilson’s Malt Extract Co. Ltd., assuming his duties towards the end of this year. Mr Greenfield has been general manager of the Timaru Brewery Co. Ltd. for the last 10 years, which position he occupied until the disposal of that company’s undertaking to N.Z. Breweries Ltd. some months ago.
