HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY A meeting of the Orari Horticultural Society was held on Thursday evening when Mr J. B. Roberts (president) presided. Others present were Mrs W. Watson, Miss F. Hewson, Miss D. Maxwell, Messrs W. J. Johnston, J. B. Cone, B. Hewson, E. J. Burke, E. R. O’Neill and L. Pierce, hon. secretary. An apology for absence was made on behalf of Mrs G. Birdling. The schedule for the 1937 show was revised, and the secretary was instructed to obtain quotations for printing it in book form. Mr T. M. Lucy’s (Temuka) offer of a donation of 5/- as a special prize for the best rose exhibited by a novice competitor was accepted with thanks.
