SMART BLOUSES
RENAISSANCE COLOURS For day wear the smartest fabric blouse is velvet, states the “Cape Times.” It is seen in the afternoon with smart suits, as well as in the morning with tweeds. Many of these velvet blouses are in the Renaissance colours—the dark blues are so becoming. Plain velveteen as well as the corded velvet make these day blouses. They often are cut on very youthful lines, with Peter Pan collars, trimmed with rows and rows of stitching, and turnedback cuffs on the short sleeves, stitched to match.
For sports wear, some of these velveteen blouses are cut somewhat in the shape of a waistcoat, with two little pointed flaps in the front, the back being tucked into the top of the skirt. Yellow or green velvet blouses look charming with contrasting tweeds, while with dark green suits red or flame-coloured blouses are much seen.
Blouses made of woollen fabrics are also worn with sports clothes.
