Make a careful choice when you buy face powder, for you are going to use it every day and the right shade is important. For fair skin the lightest and finest powders are needed; shades of naturelie are good; for evenings an orchid shade is charming or a dust of pale green. Avoid powders with a mauvish tint in their colouring. For pale and sallow skins the ivory-tinted rachel shade is right for creamy skins; and for evening banana tint, or the lettuce-green colour which makes this type of skin look beautifully transparent. Dark skin needs peach, dark rose and apricot shades. To lighten dark skin use a darkish powder and a lighter one over it. For evenings use pale mauve-coloured powder.

To help the funds of the refreshment stall at the forthcoming Catholic bazaar, Mrs J. Fitzgerald arranged a flag five hundred party at her home In Avenue Road.
