PLEASANT POINT At a special meeting of the Pleasant Point Women’s Institute Mrs Cliff gave a very interesting report on the recent conference at Dunedin. Afternoon tea was dispensed by Mesdames Bowman, Crawford, Jones. J. Murphy, MacDonald, Davison, Hawke, McNeur, Herbert and Miss Jones. Members then proceeded to the north end of the town where 30 English trees were planted in connection with the beautifying of the township. MiMaze, chairman of the Town Board, presided over the ceremony. The first four trees were then planted by the present and former presidents of the Women’s Institute followed by members of the Town Board, School Committee, Gala Committee, Returned Soldiers, Schools, Churches, Women’s Division, ex-pupils and all local sports bodies.
