DUNEDIN VOCALIST PRAISED United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Convrlght (Received August 28, 6.35 p.m.) SYDNEY, August 28 At the City of Sydney Eisteddfod, in the class, song by Australian composer, Arthur Broadhurst (Wagga) 91 points, war. fir c t, and Miss Bertha Rawlinson (Dunedin) 90 points was second. The adjudicator (Dr. Keith Barry) said that wonderful talent had been shown by the competitors. Miss Rawlinson had a most promising voice. Mr Percy Bates, who recently acted as associate conductor of the Broughton Centenary Choir of 100 voices, presented a special trophy for second place in the vocal solo by an Australian composer in the open section. This was won by Miss Rawlinson.
